Win or lose, Metallica will still be celebrating at this year's Grammys.  The metal vets have been added to the award show's list of performers, and they say they're psyched to be returning to the event.

The Grammy gig will be Metallica's first since 1992.  But the band also notes that it comes on the 25th anniversary of their first Grammy performance ever in 1989, which was the first time any hard rock act had played the event.

As for this year's performance, they're set to share the stage with concert pianist Lang Lang for what they're calling one of the most unique performances of their career.

Metallica also said they're very proud that their Through the Never soundtrack was nominated for Best Recording package, and they hope designers Turner Duckworth can snag another win.  They also took home a Grammy for their work on "Death Magnetic."

The 56th annual Grammy Awards are scheduled to take place on January 26th and will be broadcast live on CBS.
